Setting rules for one collection

You can give one collection its own sorting rules without creating a strategy. The rules apply to that collection only.

Set rules for one collection

If the collection follows a strategy, then its own rules start as a copy of that strategy’s rules.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Siftori Collection Sort > Collections.
2. Click the collection.
3. In Sorting, select Rules for this collection only.
4. Set up the sections.
5. Optional: To sort only when you click Apply Sort, deselect Sort automatically. It’s unavailable until you add a section or change how the products are sorted.
6. Click Save.

Saving doesn’t sort the collection. It’s sorted on your store schedule, or when you click Apply Sort.

Note

If you later choose a strategy for the collection, then the collection’s own rules are removed.

Save the rules as a strategy

You can turn a collection’s rules into a strategy that other collections can use. The collection keeps sorting the same way.

Save as a strategy is available only when the collection has rules and no unsaved changes.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Siftori Collection Sort > Collections.
2. Click the collection.
3. In Sorting, click Save as a strategy.
4. In Name, enter a name for the strategy.
5. Click Save.

Change a strategy from a collection

When a collection follows one of your strategies, you can change the strategy from the collection’s page.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Siftori Collection Sort > Collections.
2. Click the collection.
3. In Sorting, click Edit for all.
4. Change the sections.
5. Click Save.

Note

This changes the strategy for every collection that uses it.

Change the rules for this collection only

When a collection follows one of your strategies, you can copy the strategy’s rules to the collection and change the copy. The collection stops following the strategy.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Siftori Collection Sort > Collections.
2. Click the collection.
3. In Sorting, click Edit a copy here.
4. Change the sections.
5. Click Save.
