Push sold-out products to the bottom in Shopify

Siftori can move sold-out products to the bottom of a Shopify collection, so shoppers see what they can actually buy. When a product restocks, it moves back up on the next sort.

  • Store-wide: under Sorting defaults, check Push sold-out products to the bottom. It is off by default.
  • Per collection: the Sold-out products dropdown in the collection’s Sorting Strategy section lets a collection follow the store default, or override it with Push to bottom or None.

Siftori uses the total inventory Shopify reports for a product, counted across the variants that have Track quantity turned on. When that total is zero, the product counts as sold out and shows a Sold out badge in the app.

One consequence worth knowing: if no variant of a product has Track quantity on, Shopify reports its total as zero, so the product counts as sold out. Turn on Track quantity for the product, or set sold-out handling to None for that collection.

Push-down wins over pins: a pinned product that sells out is moved down with the rest, and reclaims its pinned position when it restocks. See Pinned products.

Sold-out status is refreshed at the start of every sort. A product that sells out or restocks moves at the next scheduled sort, or the next time you click Apply Sort, not the instant its inventory changes. See Scheduling.
