Hiding sold-out products

You can take sold-out products off your Online Store. Customers who open the link of a hidden product are sent to another page.

Hiding covers every sold-out product in your store, whichever collections you push sold-out products down in. To keep a product visible, exclude it.

Hide sold-out products

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Siftori Collection Sort > Sold-out handling.
2. Select Hide sold-out products.
3. To have products return when they restock, select Bring hidden products back when they restock. Otherwise, they stay hidden until you publish them yourself.
4. Click Save.

Before you save, the page shows how many products will be hidden. They’re hidden within minutes, and listed in the Hidden products section of the page.

Choose where the links of hidden products go

The link of a hidden product can go to one of the following:

• The collection it was in: This is what Siftori uses until you change it. For a product in several collections, Siftori picks one of them. A product in no collection goes to all collections.
• All collections: The /collections page of your store.
• Home page
• A custom URL: A path on your store, such as /collections/sale, or a full address.
• No redirect: Visitors see your store’s 404 page.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Siftori Collection Sort > Sold-out handling.
2. Make sure that Hide sold-out products is selected.
3. Next to Redirect visitors to, click Change.
4. Select an option, and then click Done.
5. Click Save.

Note

Your choice applies to products that are hidden from now on. The links of products that are already hidden stay as they are.

Change the link of one hidden product

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Siftori Collection Sort > Sold-out handling.
2. In the Hidden products section, click the product.
3. Select where its link goes.
4. Click Save.

The link changes within minutes.

Note

A product that shows Existing redirect can’t be changed here. That redirect was in your store before Siftori hid the product, so Siftori leaves it alone.

Wait before hiding a product

A product that restocks during the wait stays on your Online Store.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Siftori Collection Sort > Sold-out handling.
2. Under Hide sold-out products, select Wait after a product sells out.
3. Enter a number, and then select Minutes, Hours, or Days.
4. Click Save.

Stop hiding sold-out products

1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps > Siftori Collection Sort > Sold-out handling.
2. Deselect Hide sold-out products.
3. Click Save.
4. If products are hidden, then click one of the following:
   • Bring them back: Every hidden product returns to your Online Store within minutes, including the ones that are still sold out.
   • Leave them hidden: The products stay off your Online Store, and their links keep redirecting.

Note

After Leave them hidden, Siftori no longer tracks those products. To put one back, publish it to your Online Store in Shopify.
