Frequently asked questions

Common questions about how Siftori sorts your Shopify collections. Can't find what you're looking for? Email us at support@siftori.com.

What does Siftori do?

Siftori reorders the products inside your Shopify collections for you. You set the rules (rank by things like recency, inventory and price, pin certain products in place, send sold-out items to the bottom) and Siftori puts your collections in that order. The docs overview has a full tour.

How does the sorting work?

You give a collection a sorting strategy: a ready-made template like "New arrivals first", or rules you build yourself, such as sale items on top grouped by price with the rest newest-first below. Siftori applies the strategy, honours any pins and sold-out settings, and saves the new order back to Shopify. You can reuse the same strategy across as many collections as you like. More in strategies & templates.

How often does it sort my collections?

You can put sorting on a schedule (from weekly up to hourly, depending on your plan) or run it yourself from the app whenever you want. Either way, new products and stock changes get picked up the next time it runs. More in scheduling.

Can I preview the new order before it goes live?

Yes. You see the proposed order first and nothing reaches your storefront until you apply it. More in preview.

What happens to sold-out products?

You can tell Siftori to drop sold-out products to the bottom of the collection so your available stock stays near the top. More in sold-out handling.

Can I keep certain products in a fixed position?

Yes. Pin a product to the spot you want and everything else sorts around it. Pins always win over the sorting strategy. The one exception is sold-out push-down: a pinned product that sells out moves down too, and takes its pinned spot back when it restocks. More in pinned products.

Does Siftori work with both manual and automated collections?

Siftori applies a custom order, so it works with any collection that supports a manual sort order. Smart collections that force their own sort condition can't take a custom order, which is a Shopify limitation rather than a Siftori one. More in troubleshooting.

Will it slow down my storefront?

No. All the work happens in the background and only the finished order gets written back to Shopify. Nothing is added to your theme, so there's no effect on page speed.

Will it overwrite my current product order?

Only on the collections you choose to manage, and only when sorting runs. Anything you don't assign a strategy to is left exactly as it is. The getting started guide walks through it.

How much does Siftori cost?

There is a free plan with every feature included: scheduled sorting for 3 collections, sorted weekly. Pro at $9.99 per month covers 50 collections sorted daily, and Max at $29 per month is unlimited and sorts hourly. Both paid plans can be billed yearly for the price of ten months. Manual sorting is unlimited on every plan. Paid plans start with a 14-day free trial and are billed through the Shopify App Store, so they appear on your regular Shopify invoice.

What happens if I uninstall Siftori?

Your collections keep the order they were in when you uninstalled. Nothing gets reverted or removed from your store, and we delete your app data as set out in our Privacy Policy. More in troubleshooting.
